James Craig Nicoll

James Craig Nicoll (1846 - 1918) was active/lived in New York, California, Connecticut.  James Nicoll is known for Seascape and landscape painting, etching, watercolor.

Marine painter. Born in NYC on Nov. 22, 1846. Nicoll was an Eastern painter who was in San Diego in 1896-97. While there, he painted several views of Catalina Island. He died in Norwalk, CT on July 25, 1918. Member: NA. Exh: NAD, 1867-1900; Mechanics' Inst. (SF), 1883, 1887; New Orleans Expo, 1885 (medal); Paris Expo, 1889; Atlanta Expo, 1889 (medal); Pan-American Expo (Buffalo), 1901 (medal). In: NAD; Library of Congress; MM. AAA 1898-1918; AAW; FId; NY Times, 7-27-1918 (obit).
